I thought that as I’m sitting here, suffering form a case of writers block right now I would stop in and give you a little behind the scenes look at what’s going on in the world of Mike Lasher.  It’s that time of the year again and my travel schedule is in full swing, as I sit here writing this I’m cramped on a plane like a sardine flying somewhere over the mid west headed back to TN to pre flight the upcoming Side X Side Roundup that happens over labor day weekend in Sept.
It’s not the non stop pace with little sleep this weekend that I’m excited about, it’s that we’ll get to run the course that has been built for the King of the Mountain Competition.  Rumor on the grounds is that it’s so gnarly that the track crew can’t make it through some sections.  We’ll see if they just need an expert or it’s really just that tough.  We’ll get back from TN and into town on Sunday night and then Wednesday night we’re off to Pismo Beach for the Next stop of the Dune Tour.  All great trips in the dirt doing the things I love, but I guess what bothers me the most is the fact that my family’s not here to enjoy them with me.
The good news is, in a couple of weeks that will all change as I’ll head off to Vegas to Reno to embark on the longest off road race in America and tackle a 1000 miles of the Nevada desert in my Pro Armor Kawasaki Teryx.  The downside of this is in all of my free time, the little bit that there is, I’ve been working non-stop to get the car ready for the race.  Luckily I have been able to enlist the talent of some of the best in the business.  As I made my trek to the airport this afternoon I made a stop in Upland, CA at Zero Tolerance Fabrication and dropped the racecar off to Paul to have a few last minute changes made to the car.  I’ll be sure to post some photos of the beautiful work that he does when I pick it up.  In all of my years I have never seen someone as talented as Paul and as capable of a fabricator and welder.
Well, it’s time to light the fire and get back to writing for your next issue, I’ll be sure to stop in soon and give you an update of where I’m at and the adventures that have happened.

Between Midnight last night and 9am this morning all of us arrived out to the Base Camp of the Side X Side Jamboree in Parker, AZ.

We had a great day of setting the background scene for this weekend.  The table and chairs are up, the wood is ready for the fire, the stage is positioned, the exhibitors are starting to line up…. It is going to be a great weekend!

Today PJ’s Performance, CF Moto, R&R Products, OMF and Walker Evans parked their rigs in line to show you their stuff.  More are due in later tonight and the rest in the morning.  There is a lot of great stuff out here for you to look at!

As a note to the directions that are posted…it is a lot farther than 3 miles down Shea Rd…try more like 8.  And it is ALL ASPHAULT!  Don’t worry, you will see us when you get here!
