1  Side X Side's / Yamaha Rhino / Where did you mount your Winch contact box? on: January 18, 2007, 09:40:53 PM
Picked up a Ramsey 3000/wireless remote/synthetic rope.  I would like to hear where you have mounted the electronics.  Thanks
2  Side X Side Action / General Discussion / Found info on Wicked Rhino Stage II CDI Box ! on: January 13, 2007, 07:27:26 PM
The site is called "regualtor rectifier. com (one word)  The description sounds similar to some I have read somewhere about the small timing curve increase.  Not sure about the reverse limiter.  I think I would not like to have a reverse limiter but not sure.  I know I didn't on my old 4 wheeler but on a Rhino I am not sure.  Someone can throw in their 2 cents worth.

They also claim a small increase in power with their rectifier.

3  Side X Side Action / General Discussion / Black Rhino "Wicked" CDI box on: January 09, 2007, 09:44:05 PM
This has probably been kick to death but here goes.  This afternoon I was speaking to a Rhino owner about his likes and dislikes and we came round to talking about mods.  He said he had a Black Rhino CDI Box but not to buy it.  He said to buy the Black Rhino "Wicked" CDI box.  His friend runs this one and it runs circles around his Rhino.  Has anyone heard of the "Wicked" CDI box from Black Rhino and if so, where can they be purchased?  Thanks

Could I get by with the stock tires at Glamis?
5  Side X Side's / Yamaha Rhino / Hunterwworks CDI ? on: January 05, 2007, 07:37:10 PM
Anyone running one of the Hunterworks CDIs?  They describe it as a notch above the rest.  Would appreciate any feed back.  Did getting rid of the rev limiter help the top end?  Mine limits out around 42 mph.  Seems like it should have a lot more.  I also wouldn't mind gettting rid of the reverse limiter.  Do you feel like it needs to be rejetted with the new CDI?  How much larger?  Are you also changine the pilot jet?  I went larger on my Raptor pilot jets and it helped the low/mid range.  Especially, dying at low speeds when you didn't want it to.  Thanks
6  Side X Side Action / General Discussion / Re: Quartzite, Az riding areas ? on: January 05, 2007, 07:27:56 PM
Never been before and want to see what it is all about.  But mainly I want to ride.  Be fine with me if she would shop and let me ride.  As long as I keep her check book, that is.
7  Side X Side's / Yamaha Rhino / Gorilla Winch ? on: January 04, 2007, 07:22:09 PM
If anyone is using the Gorilla winch, I would appreciate some feed back on it.  Thanks

9  Side X Side's / Yamaha Rhino / Re: Rhino/Pickup Bed/Windshield ? on: January 01, 2007, 11:06:48 AM
Actually, it was the parts guy telling me this.  I was going to order a windshield at the time and he suggested I give it some thought.  He said he had sold several tops because of it.
10  Side X Side's / Yamaha Rhino / Rhino/Pickup Bed/Windshield ? on: December 30, 2006, 10:51:04 PM
The dealer said not to install a windshield if I was going to carry it in the bed of my pickup becasue of the wind force against it.  Do es anyone carry theirs  in the bed with a windshield ?  He also said not to do it with a top on it.  Mine came with the top.  Thanks
11  Side X Side's / Yamaha Rhino / Rhino Mirror? on: December 30, 2006, 04:18:13 PM
Has anyone found a mirror that will mount in the center instead of side mirrors. I would like to have one that does not stick out on the sides. Thanks
12  Side X Side's / Yamaha Rhino / Another set back to putting the Rhino in the bed. on: December 30, 2006, 04:12:45 PM
I have a set of Goodyear Mud Runners I was planning on putting it but after some measuring, the front GMRs are about 1 1/2" wider than the stock tires.  The stockers just squeeze through the wheel wells now.  The GMRs are 25x 8 x 12.  The rear will not be a problem.  The GMRs are a great all around tire.
13  Side X Side's / Yamaha Rhino / Re: Carrying Rhino in Short Bed Chevy? on: December 30, 2006, 04:06:56 PM
Outlaw- My truck is an '02 short bed extended cab 4x4.  Great truck.  Hate to give it up just because it is not long enough for the Rhino.  But, am thinking about taking a look at the new Chevy 2500 HD diesel with a long bed when it comes out.  Local dealer said sometime in the first quarter.

Thanks.  Do you feel that loading and unloading puts that kind of strain on the parts?  I have it so that the weight will be in the bed but not sure about loading and unloading.  I may have to scrap the ideal of taking the Rhino to Az next month and just take the Raptor.     Another couple that  is going with us also has a Rhino, but he has a motorhome and pulls an enclosed trailer.  I would really like to take the Rhino so the wife can ride and not miss out by staying at camp.  I traded in my Rincon and am wishing now that I would have not made the trade.  Seems like my short cuts always get me in trouble.

I am wondering if there is some way that the side of the bed and hinges can be reinforced?
15  Side X Side's / Yamaha Rhino / Size of winch needed and where to mount a GPS? Flag? on: December 20, 2006, 05:01:16 PM
I hate to be making so many posts, but am new to the Rhino scene and have a lot of questions I would like help with.

I am planning on buying a winch and am wondering what size is large enough?  Also, would like some input on some of the cheaper brands I am seeing.  It is one of those things where you get what you pay for?

Where you are mounting your GPS. I have a hand held Garmin that I had mounted on my 4 wheeler handle bars.  I would like to keep it removeable .

Where is a good place to mount a flag?  Most atvs I have owned had a place to mount one.

Pics.would be helpful.

Thanks for any input...
